Smartphones Pub Payments

Hoteliers over the age of 40 probably did not have a microwave in their kitchen when they were growing up. Can you imagine that now?
Well in a few years from now, patrons in hotels will be using their smartphones to pay for a round of drinks, a meal or a bottleshop purchase.
It’s a smartphone computer chip with Near Field Communication (NFC) capability. And rumours are that the iPhone5 will have this feature.
It’s a secure connection between an app on the patrons phone and your cash register.
So say goodbye to credit cards. Don’t believe that? Just ask a 20-year-old the time and they will tell you, “Sorry, I don’t have my phone with me.”
Still don’t believe it? That’s what people said about microwave ovens!

QUESTION:

Why is search engine marketing (such as Google search) so important?

ANSWER:

There are 60,000 online searches for restaurants in Australia every day.

Hotel Websites

Adelaide hotel websites have come a long way since Boylen Media first because involved with the AHA some 17 years ago.

Competition is now fierce. Many hotels are undertaking redesigns to stay ahead - and the ability to make your own changes has become critical.

Boylen Media has developed more than 40 hotel websites for South Australians hoteliers. These range from country pubs to "hot" metro outlets.

Our work has included:

  • uploading time saving tasks (such as lunch pre-order forms that once had to be faxed or emailed out)
  • designed photo galleries that are easily updated after a busy weekend has passed
  • put in place online ordering systems for a leading South Australian bottle shop
  • provided a method where hotels can update menus - and keep the old menus for future reference (or to upload the 'old' menu when the seasons change
  • organised professional photography - first impression count.

As publisher of Hotel SA for the AHA(SA), we have come to know hotels and their business challenges.
