Esmay is a deeply personal, produce-driven restaurant by acclaimed Chef Alanna Sapwell-Stone. Located in the heritage-listed former Hackney Hotel, the intimate 40-seat dining room celebrates hyper-seasonal regional treasures, ethical farming practices, and elevated comfort cooking.
Following its evolution from a highly successful national travelling pop-up to a permanent Adelaide venue, Esmay needed a premium digital presence to match its physical launch. The main challenge was to translate the venue’s intimate, nostalgic, and deeply personal brand identity into a functional digital format, ensuring that reservation systems, changing seasonal menus, and event bookings were effortlessly accessible without losing the restaurant’s bespoke feel.
We designed and developed a sophisticated, minimalist website that positions Esmay’s culinary philosophy and local community stories at the forefront. Our team focused on frictionless user pathways, implementing clear navigation for reservations, set menu experiences, and dietary capability transparency across all mobile and desktop devices. By integrating streamlined enquiry features for group dining and private functions, we provided a secure, technically optimised platform that allows the team to capture high-value event bookings smoothly while maintaining rapid page loading speeds.
